Making your own pizza dough is easier than you think. The best thing about pizza dough is that it can be made in advance, and even frozen, so you can make pizza in minutes. You will need only 5 ingredients, and just one bowl (no stand mixer).
This recipe uses flour type 00 which is usually used for authentic Italian pizza but feel free to use plain flour. In this recipe we use fresh yeast, which rise the dough quickly and easily. To prove the yeast, crumble it and combine with some water, sugar and flour. For toppings you can use anything you fancy. Opt for just tomato sauce which makes pizza Margherita.
Combine flour and salt in one bowl. Make a well in the centre, then pour yeast mixture, olive oil and water. Stir everything until flour and other ingredients and combined. Turn over the dough onto floured work surface and knead for about 6 - 7 minutes, adding some flour in between so the dough doesn't stick to the surface. Place the dough in oiled bowl, cover with kitchen towel and put on a warm place to rise. We like to do this in the oven, preheated and turned off.
