You are going to love these simple pizza bites that can be prepared easily and quickly. Fluffy white baguettes make the perfect base for pizza toppings - these are loaded up with simple tomato sauce and melted mozzarella, pepper and ham but you could add your favourite pizza toppings as you like.

They are ready in only 15 minutes making ideal snack for everybody. Your children will adore these snacks, as they are so tasty directly from the oven.

how to make smoked ham baguette pizza

For this simple pizza bites you will need French baguette - a long shaped crispy bread. We cut each baguette into 3 pieces and slice lengthwise each one. First place them on a baking tray with cut side up to crispy up slightly - just for 5 minutes. Then top each piece with mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and pieces of ham. Drizzle with some olive oil and bake in the oven for 10 minutes. When the cheese is melted and the crust crisped your baguette pizzas are ready to enjoy! 

For this recipe use soft crusted French bread. It is easier to cut and once baked it won't be too dry.

If you have some leftover baguette pizzas, you can reheat them in the oven for a few minutes.

SERVES: 8 pizzas
COOKS IN: 1 hour
LEVEL: Super easy

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 French baguettes
  • 6 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 200g mozzarella
  • 100g smoked ham
  • 2 tablespoons dried oregano
  • olive oil for drizzling

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).

  2. Cut the baguette into 4, then slice each piece lengthways to create 8 halves. Place them on a baking tray, brush with some olive oil and toast in the oven for 3 - 4 minutes to crisp up.

  3. Take them from the oven, top with tomato sauce, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and pieces of sliced ham. Sprinkle with dried oregano.

  4. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until the mozzarella has melted and is just turning golden.
